I went to campus and this was my second time there. I was a reapplicant from last year that got waitlisted. The atmosphere was friendly, and the tone of the interview was very conversational. My interviewer had read my application (I think from both years) and was just asking the basic questions of what changed, why Stern, etc. I did a lunch with a current student afterwards but I would recommend doing this first because those are v. laid back and a good way to get info.
Questions asked:
- Why MBA?
- What are your career goals?
- Why Stern? (a lot of the interview was spent on this question)
- What can you add to Stern’s community?
- What resources would you use at Stern to further your career goals? (this is because I am switching from consulting into a non-traditional path)
- Tell me an example of where you led a team.
Overall, I knew what to expect since I had been there last year. I thought the campus overall is in a really great location and would definitely trying to sit in on a class if you can. The building is slightly older than other campuses I have been to, but it’s really hard beat NYC as a bschool location.
