I interviewed with Georgetown McDonough in Asia. They sent an Adcom member and we had the interview in a lounge a nice hotel. It was a really relaxed setting and the interviewer made sure I was comfortable. We had our own table, but there were definitely other people at tables around us. It felt much more like a chat than an interview. Very casual.
Some pretty standard questions:
- walk me through your resume ( we discussed several points about my resume, transitions between jobs etc. )
- why do you want an MBA?
- why now?
- what attracts you to Georgetown?
- describe your experience working in Asia vs. US
- describe a time when you were met with a difficult situation at work. how did you resolve it?
- describe a time when you were met with a conflict with a coworker. how did you resolve it?
The whole time it felt more like a conversation. After these questions, we chatted a little bit about differing cultures. She then asked if I had any questions and we spent about 10 minutes going through my questions ( I had 3 questions ).
Overall I had a good time speaking with my interviewer and I never felt nervous during the roughly 40 minutes. Tips: prepare ahead of time, relax and get there early! ( there was no one scheduled before me so I got to go in a bit early )
Result: Admitted!
