Oxford / Saïd MBA Admissions Interview Questions:Round 2 / Program Director / Off-campus (Singapore)

Interview time: 11 AM

I was the first to be interviewed and it started 10 minutes earlier than schedule. The interview was close to 45 minutes. The interview was conducted by the Program Director. It was quite an interesting interview…Listing down the questions below.

What is your role and daily work at ABC Company?
If you were a client of ABC Company, what are the aspects you would consider before procuring the service of ABC?
a) Would you procure from companies other than ABC
b) Why would you not prefer X company at this time?
c) Why would you prefer ABC company?
d) Why do you need to have multiple suppliers?
How do Wall Street folks rate your company?
Imagine yourself as head of ABC – How do you think of the people. Asset or Weakness?
What are the changes you would make to the company and Why?
You studied in India and Singapore…What is the difference in Education and the general Economy?
What are the key problems in Singapore economy…Singapore does not have space to expand. How do they go about expanding?
When did you decide you wanted to go for an MBA? Why not Singapore schools?
You want to work for Strategy firm specializing in Business Technology – Why not pursue that opportunity within your company?
Imagine there is a cut-off to GMAT scores for getting an interview with your target firms? How would you go about showing your skills(to target firm) given that your score is below cut-off?
What is the difference between working as an employee of a firm, and performing a task that relates to people. (Note: I am an internal consultant for HR system implementation. It may not be applicable to many folks.)
How would respond to a critique who states that Cloud is nothing but a network?
What are the challenges in Analyzing huge volumes of data…Processing or knowledge?
What is your thought on Yahoo ban on work from home policy?
How long have you been preparing for the interview?

It was quite a discussion…I had to struggle a bit with a couple of questions. But, in general it was an interesting discussion and very engaging.
