Yale School of Management (SOM) welcomes prospective applicants to come visit its New Haven campus this spring as part of its Campus Visit Program, according to a recent Admissions Corner blog post by Associate Director Kristen Shockley.
“Our globe-trotting students have just returned to campus from their International Experience trips and Global Network Weeks and our campus visit program is poised to host visitors from near and far in their search for the right business school,” she writes.
The following campus visit dates are available, and interested visitors are encouraged to register early to secure a spot:
- Tuesday, April 15th through Wednesday, April 16th
- Monday, April 21st through Thursday, April 24th
- Monday, April 28th through Wednesday, April 30th
So what does the Yale SOM Campus Visit Program entail? Participants arrive at 9:30 a.m. at Evans Hall, the school’s new home designed by acclaimed architect Lord Norman foster, where they will first join a class in one of five differently styled classrooms. Each classroom type is equipped with state-of-the-art technology and designed to foster team teaching and collaboration.
After the class visit, current students will take visitors on a tour of Evans Hall, including stops in the glass enclosed Ross Library, which features a suspended reading room, and the Beinecke Terrace, which is furnished with tables and chairs made with reclaimed wood of native New Haven trees.
Visitors will enjoy lunch with their student hosts, followed by a tour of the larger Yale University. The tour will return participants to the School of Management, for a Q&A session with a member of the Admissions team and a current student. The Class Visit Program concludes by 3 p.m.
In her post, Shockley encourages those visitors who have the time to finish out the day with a good meal at one of New Haven’s many good restaurants. She mentions Soul de Cuba Cafe, Barcelona Wine Bar & Restaurant and pizza – for which New Haven is known. How to choose a pizza place? Check out The Definitive Guide to New Haven Pizza, she urges.
