forte foundation logoThe 2015 Forté Foundation MBA Women’s Leadership Conference, scheduled to take place in June at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, will welcome current female MBA students and alumni for two jam-packed days of sessions devoted to exploring the nature of power, presence and workplace politics. The annual conference, hosted by a different sponsor business school each year, is put on by the Forté Foundation as part of its mission to help women succeed in business careers through increased access to business education, opportunities and a community of successful women.

With the theme “Let’s Power Up!” this year’s conference is scheduled for June 19th and 20th in Washington, DC, on the campus of Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business. The event will feature more than 100 speakers and presenters, as well as 50+ workshops on topics ranging from money management to communications strategies to help make your voice heard in the classroom and beyond.

Forté  Foundation Executive Director Elissa Sangster will kick things off on Friday, June 19th, followed by a welcome address from McDonough School of Business Dean David A. Thomas. Scheduled keynote speakers this year include Elana Fine, managing director of the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland Smith School of Business, and Lucinda Duncalfe, CEO of Monetate, who will both discuss female entrepreneurship. Cindy Solomon, a customer service and employee engagement guru and strategic consultant to leading organizations including the Mayo Clinic, Raytheon, Oracle and Google, will deliver another keynote address on how women can build confidence, power and potential.

The year’s event will also include Dialogue With Leadership, a recurring component of the annual conference in which C-suite women come together in candid conversation to share how they rose to the top. Scheduled presenters for this session include Jocelyn Cunningham, market offering portfolio leader for Deloitte, and Gisel Ruiz, executive vice president of Walmart’s International People Division.

Twelve career insight panels and 15 professional development panels will also be available to participants. One of the career insight panels, MBAs and the Politics of Doing Good, will include presenters Laura Walker, New York Public Radio president and CEO; Jane Mosbacher Morris, founder and CEO of To the Market; Associate Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education Ursula Wright of the U.S. Department of Education; and Mary Humphrey, CEO of the Jane Goodall Institute.

The Forte MBA Women’s Leadership Conference is open to incoming students, current students or MBA alumna from any of the 48 Forté sponsor business schools. Some scholarships are available. Complete details and registration information can be found on the conference website.
