The following Duke / Fuqua MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them!
I arrived on campus and waited in the lobby to be interviewed. My original interviewer did not show up, so the “backup” for the time-slot was asked to cover – I was impressed with their scheduling that they were able to fix the problem so quickly. The new interviewer had not seen my résumé (it appears the original interviewer had prepared some questions in advance), and so the interview became very conversational, with them asking questions on the fly.
The interviewer asked the following questions:
-Résumé walkthrough
-Why Fuqua?
-Describe your leadership style
-Describe a time a coworker didn’t pull their weight
-How do I like my job?
-What are my greatest strengths?
-Describe a time I received constructive feedback
-What do I bring to a team?
-What makes a great team?
-Describe a challenge I’ve had with leadership
-What was my best team experience?
-What motivates me?
-Do I have any concerns about getting an MBA
-Describe how I manager a superior
-What are my hobbies?
The interview was incredibly relaxed, and I enjoyed my conversation. I love the culture of Duke and enjoyed partaking in the lunch with current students. Everyone seems incredible intelligent, yet down to earth. Top notch program! I was admitted R1.
