The following UPenn / Wharton MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!
Everyone was hanging out in the waiting room when a couple of second-year students came out and called a few names including mine for our discussion group. Everyone in the waiting room was introducing each other and making small talk so I actually had a little rapport with some of the people in my group already, which I found really helpful.
We went into a small room and all six of us interviewees sat around a table with the observing students sitting to the side. The students introduced themselves and then all us interviewees introduced ourselves. They put a timer up on the TV in the room and then our discussion was off. We spent a few minutes introducing our ideas, and then had our group discussion. It was very casual and easy and it felt like it went by quickly. The people in my group were great and everyone got a chance to contribute.
After that, we got pulled in one by one for the 10 minute solo sessions. I was asked:
1) Why Wharton?
2) What specifically attracts you about Wharton’s culture?
3) What are your hobbies?
It was very conversational and my student interviewer was very friendly and interested. It went by quickly and that was it.
