The following UPenn / Wharton MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!
I showed up about 30 mins early. This paid dividends because I was able to meet several individuals before entering the TBD. Fortunately, I actually had a mini-conversation with each person in my group prior to the TBD, which facilitated a more comfortable flow for the discussion. My strategy going into the TBD was to volunteer to be timer; however, someone else chose that so I volunteered to hold the group accountable throughout the conversation to ensure our plan applied to all five stakeholders mentioned in the prompt (e.g., alumni, faculty, students, etc.).
In the one-on-one interview (no more than 10 mins), I was surprised I was not asked any questions on my thoughts/feelings about the TBD. Instead the interviewer simply asked what I wanted to discuss and what questions I had. Feeling slightly confused, I walked him through my résumé to understand me better and then I asked him about why he chose Wharton and which experiences since arriving have confirmed he made the right choice. It was a very casual conversation.
