The following NYU / Stern interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them!
Met with two admissions counselors. They were friendly but the atmosphere was definitely a formal interview. Here are some of the questions I was asked:
-Ice breaker for unique résumé item
-Walk me through your résumé / work experience.
-Why MBA?
-Why Stern?
-Leadership examples
-Give an example of interpersonal communication
-Example of a time you have failed
-3 brands you admire, 3 companies you would want to work for
-What has surprised you about Stern?
-What are your expectations of the recruitment process?
Overall my advice would be to prepare behavioral questions with unique anecdotal stories of your experiences and leadership as well as times you have failed. Don’t be too over-rehearsed though, acting natural and comfortable is important. I was told I would get a decision within 2-3 weeks, heard back about 4 weeks later with the good news that I was admitted.
