The following Cornell / Johnson MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!
My interview with Johnson was a really enjoyable, relaxed conversation with a member of the Adcom. Although I received some questions I wasn’t expecting, nothing was completely out of left field and the interview process wasn’t too stressful. She already had a copy of my résumé on hand. The interview lasted about an hour. Some of the questions I asked included:
• Tell me your narrative (I went ahead and used this as a chance to combine the “walk me through your résumé” “Why MBA” “Why Now” and “Why Johnson” questions all into one)
• Why did you join the Army? (I am currently an army officer)
• Short/Long term goals and how you got to them
• If you get into more than one school, how would you decide between them?
• Tell me about a supervisor who influenced your career. What were the traits you liked most about his leadership, and traits you liked least?
• Tell me about the leadership decision you are most proud of, and a mistake you made in judgement as a leader
There were more questions, mainly regarding my work experience, but I can’t remember them now. At the end, she gave me about 15 minutes to ask my questions. Overall, it was a great experience. The moment I got to campus, I could really sense the enthusiasm and passion that everyone has for Johnson. It really helped me feel comfortable and excited at the opportunity to even be interviewing.
