The following Duke / Fuqua interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by an Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!
I completed my interview on campus with a second year student. The interview was my last event of the day following a class visit and building tour. Everyone I met was especially friendly and welcoming including my interviewer. The school has a comfortable waiting area where we were greeted by current students and admissions representatives in between events
When it was time for my interview, the interviewer came in and introduced themselves and took me to a small room close by. After getting settled, the interviewer told me the interview was blind and it was there goal to simply have a conversation. Overall, it was pretty comparable to the other student led interviews I’ve had although Duke focuses more on behavioral questions versus traditional lead off questions. The questions I got were:
• What are you most proud of personally and professionally?
• What are your three greatest strengths?
• What would a manager say your best contributions to a team are?
• Tell me about a time you’ve failed?
• What are your weaknesses?
• Do you regret anything over the course of your career?
• What will you bring to the school/program?
• Why Duke?
• Any questions for me?
At a couple of points the interviewer said I covered the next topic in an answer, not sure if this will help me or hurt me but looking forward to hearing back and hoping for good news!
