I attended a campus visit event and interviewed at Booth with a second-year student.
The event was great and allowed us to get to know current students, faculty, and the overall learning environment at Booth. Everything ran smoothly and it was a very good experience. I highly recommend visiting the campus of your target programs, speaking with current students, and reaching out to alumni in your desired field(s). Booth students and alumni are very friendly and supportive.
The interview was also well organized and went well. The interviewer only had my résumé and a list of questions to cover in 30-40min plus time for my questions. Remember that you’re interviewing with a student who is not as experienced as an HR professional. My interview felt rushed, but I adapted to the situation on the spot and adjusted my answers to match the interviewer’s pace and style.
During my preparation, I reviewed the interview reports on this website and all questions I was asked have already been posted here (e.g. tell me about yourself, why MBA, why now, why us, example of leadership, strength/weakness, etc). Don’t overthink this or over-prepare for the interview. Review your application, prepare some key bullet points about you/your brand and for the typical questions asked, rehearse in front of a mirror so that you can see how you communicate and maybe practice with someone if you don’t have experience interviewing. During the actual interview, just be confident and be yourself so that you can “connect” with the interviewer.
