The following Cornell / Johnson MBA interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant.
So, I applied with Johnson at Cornell for the first round, but I took the interview during the second round. Interestingly enough, I missed the first round interview scheduling deadline, and I was able to reschedule for the second round deadline. It seemed like as if it were rolling. Since I was looking at the Park Fellowship, I was required to complete the LEAD event on campus. This included days worth of events including an interview.
I went ahead with the interview, and it was a great environment.
Specifically, I was asked:
Tell me about yourself.
Why excites you about Johnson? And, why do you think it would be a good fit?
Why an MBA? Why now?
Short term/Long term goals?
What would you bring to the Johnson Community? What are your interests?
Is there any thing else that I would like to cover or explain on my application?
Initially, I was excited about Cornell, but I was admitted to several other schools. This ultimately led to declining interest in the school. I think that the remoteness of Ithaca turned me off. The school has also been undergoing significant changes.
I eventually withdrew my application since I took a seat at a different school.
Best of luck to everyone!
