The following INSEAD interview report was submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!
I interviewed with two alumni separately in the SF Bay Area.
The first interviewer was an alumni who had graduated 8 years ago. We met in her place of work and the interview took place in a small conference room. She was very nice and casual and we had a casual conversation over some tea. I had prepared my answers for a dozen questions, but she only asked me a couple: Why do you want an MBA now? Why INSEAD?
After that we talked about her experience at INSEAD, what she does now. She ended up getting pretty nostalgic and kept saying how great of an experience I will have. The interviewer said that she would submit the report in the next couple days and that I should hear back from the admissions committee two weeks from then. She wished me luck and told me to have fun at INSEAD so I took that as good sign. I would say that this was a very “easy” interview. The interview lasted approximately 1 hour.
The second interview was also surprisingly relaxed. This one took place early in the evening at a restaurant in a more private area. Again, she started by introducing herself, what she did, and then she asked me the same questions. Why MBA? What do you want to do in the future? Why INSEAD? The interview became more of a conversation where I asked a lot about her background and career and I would reply with something that I could relate to. This interviewer actually ended the interview by saying that she would highly recommend me for admission. The interview lasted approximately 1 hour.
I think that I got very lucky to have two very relaxed and encouraging interviewers.
