The following U. Chicago Booth interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!

The interview was a 3o min interview with a second-year student, application-based.

List of interview questions

Mostly behavior questions, like:

• Tell me about a time when you have conflicts with your teammates
• How do you work in a team
• When there is no leader (e.g. MBA team projects), how do you work efficiently and avoid free rides
• Tell me about a failure, what did you learn
(and lots of follow-up)

Then common questions like:

• What is your career goal
• How do you want to achieve your goal with a Booth MBA

I haven’t received my admissions decision yet. The fact that all on-campus interviews are conducted by second-year students shows that Booth is a very student-led school, where MBA students are involved in lots of activities/ decisions. For the on-campus interview itself, I think the match with the interviewer can be very random, it may not depend on your background or your career goal. Also, as a second-year student, the interviewer has just experienced different sides of the MBA life, which he/she might use as interview questions. My advice is to reflect on your past experiences, what have you done, how did handle different situations, and really think through your career goal and motivations. Because many questions are directly based on MBA student life, sometimes they can be unexpected and not so typical, make sure to be genuine.
