The following Harvard Business School / HBS interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!
I interviewed with 2 members of the adcom – one who had reviewed my whole application and knew it inside out and one who had read only my résumé. They were both very nice and the interview felt pretty relaxed and conversational. They had a lot of questions, mainly about my résumé and application – they really dug in deeply on my background. Here are some of the questions:
My current job:
1. Explain what your job is in lay-people terms (I am an engineer)
2. What’s your to-do list look like on a typical day? What is a good day? What is a bad day?
3. What do you wear to work? What is the company “vibe”?
4. Who are some of your competitors? Customers? Do you have a sales team?
College:
1. Tell me about your college. Why did you decide to go? Why a double major?
2. Lot of questions on a college project I wrote about in my essay. How did you motivate people? How did you react to the bad news?
Other things:
1. What is your ideal summer internship?
2. What is one business story you are following?
3. How do you get your news?
4. Who do you want sitting next to you in class?
5. What is one question you wished we had asked?
