The following UPenn / Wharton interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant who was admitted. Congratulations to them!
The TBD was an intimidating process, but overall I had a great group.
I signed up for the first time-slot, and I was very glad I did, because the admissions office was very crowded and chaotic later in the day. Many people recommend getting to campus early so you can chat with other students in your TBD in the lobby, to make your TBD more comfortable. I did not find this helpful because there are multiple groups during the same slot, so I did not meet anyone in my group prior to going in.
Although there were a few small awkward moments during my group’s TBD (Who speaks first, etc), overall it went very well. No one was overly aggressive, or very withdrawn. We had a good balance, and were able to quickly agree on the pitch to pursue, and built themes from other people’s pitches into the final presentation to the 2nd-year students.
The 10 minute 1:1 interview afterwards was very informal, and I think actually less than 10 minutes.
Questions asked:
- How do you feel that TBD went?
- Do you feel like that TBD was representative of how you normally interact in groups?
- Why MBA?
- Why Wharton?
- Any updates you’d like to share to add to your application?
- Any questions for me?
My general impression after the interview (and the full day of class visits, Q&A with Students, Tour), is that there are truly incredibly talented students applying here! There was a strong sense of drive and competition.
