The following UPenn / Wharton interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!

I completed the TBD during the first interview slot of the day. I was one of the first to arrive and would definitely recommend getting there early so that you can chat with other interviewees. I had the chance to chat with a couple of people in my group before the interview started, which helped to put my nerves at ease. The second-year interviewers then called us back in groups. Once we were in the room (which has a timer and whiteboard) we each went around the group to introduce ourselves. The interviewers then read the prompt and started the timer. We each went around and gave our 1 min pitch. My group had a lot of overlap in locations and topics which made selecting one idea easy (took us less than 5 min to pick one). Then the conversation flowed from there as we pulled in ideas from each person into the final pitch. The whole experience goes by very quickly, so be sure to get a couple of key points in. It seemed like the easiest way to “fail” the interview would be to not speak up enough.

In my 1:1 with a second year student I was asked the typical Why MBA/why Wharton questions along with one or two straightforward behavioral questions (e.g. tell me about a time you faced a challenge at work). The interviewer then gave me time to ask him a couple of questions. The whole experience was much more laid back and conversational than other interviews I had.

Overall had a great time at the Wharton interview day! I probably stressed myself out over the interview format way more than was merited – so my advice to those heading into it would be to not overthink it.
