The following UT Austin / McCombs interview questions and report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!
I was invited to interview on 10/16 and then interviewed on 11/2. The interview was in the lobby of the Sheraton Grand Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. There were some distractions in the lobby so it was important to stay focused.
Questions
The interview was blind. Here is a summary of questions.
1) Tell me about yourself.
2) Walk me through your career progression.
3) Why an MBA? Why now?
4) Why McCombs?
5) How will you contribute to McCombs as a student?
6) What is your plan B?
7) What questions have I not asked you that you may want to answer?
8) Any questions?
The interview was informal yet professional. I felt that it went very well. Question #7 (above) was a very good way to give the interviewer a good chunk of information that demonstrates character and work experience. I was surprised to be able to take advantage of this.
I sent a follow up thank you email and received a response. I have not heard back yet but was told that decisions would be released on or around the deadline for Round 1 (12/19/2017).
Good Luck!
