The following Michigan / Ross MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 2 applicant. Good luck to them!
Visit was during Round 1 interview invite day and was with 2nd year student, blind. 1/2 of section interviewed first while the other 1/2 waited and then switched. Very friendly interviewer and atmosphere. After this the rest of the day’s activities commenced. The team exercise is not something I would advise preparing for – you either have it or you don’t. If you can function in a team setting it will show. I would suggest just being yourself and contribute while not trying too hard!
1) Walk me through your resume
2) Why an MBA?
3) Why Ross?
4) Tell me about a time you led a team
5) Tell me about a difficult teammate and how you handled that situation – some followup questions. One that focused on mentoring
6) Any questions for me?
Questions were few and overall interview went very quick – quickest of all my interviews, but that left a lot of time at the end for questions. I filled this time with questions on the 2nd year students background, Ross questions etc. and found common ground when I could. I felt that studying Clear Admit questions gave me a good idea of what to expect even if actual questions were a bit different. Important to have a few personal experience stories to draw from and adapt them to the question being asked.
Overall visit and interview was great and thought it was one of my best interviews. Was awarded admission. Very impressed in the job that Ross did putting the day together and could feel a preview of the culture that Ross promises.
