The following Michigan Ross MBA interview questions & report were submitted to Clear Admit by a Round 1 applicant. Good luck to them!
I was offered to interview over Skype with a 2Y student whose identity was not disclosed before the call. The student initiated the Skype call and it was very warm and friendly from the start. After briefly sharing the flow of the call, we dug right in. He only had access to my resume and started with the usual question of “Walk me through your resume”. During my answer he asked a few clarifying questions regarding my startup work experience. He seemed quite interested in my switch from a Fortune 500 company to starting my own business and followed up with the question – “In what ways was your experience at the startup different from that in F500 company?”. Then it was a series of routine questions in the following order:
1. Tell me about your career goals
2. How does an MBA fit in right now with your goals?
3. Why Ross?
4. How do I plan to contribute to Ross community?
5. Tell me about a tough leadership incident (he told me that he really liked my answer)
6. Describe a time when you failed at something
7. Do you have any questions for me?
Overall I found the interview to be quite warm and conversational. My interviewer genuinely tried to understand my experiences and my understanding of Ross community. It was a straightforward interview without any surprises and I think I did well on this interview.
