The Ross MBA interview was conversational and pretty straight-forward. From what I noticed, she had a list of questions that may have been provided by the adcom. She also had my resume, and came prepared.
The first few were stock MBA interview questions
- Tell me about yourself.
- Things seem to be going well. Why MBA now?
- Why Ross?
Then she said that leadership is a big component of Ross culture, and asked
- My leadership style
- Success
- How I pivoted from a decision I’ve made.
There were a few other questions that revolved around my professional experience.
During the question section, I’ve asked some questions around her pre-MBA and Post-MBA career and her experience at Ross. Here name was provided prior to the interview, so I researched prior to the meeting.
The interview was quite pleasant, and went well. I should be hearing from the program next week during the decision release date. Though she had a question bank, she carried the interview conversationally, so there were no surprises.
As a side note: I also applied for the Tauber Institute, and received an interview from them. This interview was done over Skype. Interviewer really knew my resume, and was very knowledgeable. This interview was even more conversational as she had a great sequencing for her questions. She did ask more challenging questions that drilled down into specific of what I wanted to achieve out from the program. I think the interview went well, but I definitely had a few moment when I was frantically thinking about my answers(This was the only Skype interview I had, and may have affected my comfort level).
