I received an email from Kellogg with my interviewer’s contact information and the time frame that I had to complete my interview. I reached out to my interviewer to schedule some time at a place of their choice. I also provided them with my resume as they did not see my application.
The interview was very conversational and informal. The interviewer was very interested in knowing the background and strategy on how I arrived at applying to business school and eventually what led me to Kellogg. They wanted to ensure I have thought through all of my business school plans: plan A, plan B, plan C, etc and how I would react.
Questions
- Where are you from?
- Where did you go to school? Why did you choose that major?
- What made you choose your first job?
- Why MBA?
- Short/Long term goals
- What skills will you bring to Kellogg? What organizations are you looking to get involved in?
- Tell me about a time where you were presented with a challenge and what did you do to solve it?
- If applying to business school this year doesn’t work out, what will you do?
- If your first internship/career choice doesn’t work out, what will you do?
These questions aren’t in any particular order and were weaved into the conversation. The interviewer was interested in my story and asked specific questions if needed, with an emphasis on how I work in diverse teams. With questions, the interview lasted about 1.5 hours. Overall, it was a very positive experience.
