Interviewed as part of full day visit schedule. Other activities include a class visit, campus tour (led by a 1st year student), lunch with two 1st year students, and an info session with adcom members.
Honestly, the interview was not even the most memorable part of the day for me. One thing you should keep in mind is that the other interviewees on campus with you will know a lot about Tuck already. The Tuckie mindset starts very early for applicants – so go prepared. Talk to students ahead of time; you don’t want to be the one who cannot contribute to group discussions. Also pay attention to the timing of your interview – I had mine at 3pm after a long day of programming; keep in mind that fatigue can set in.
The actual interview was conversational, but it was still an interview, so keep in mind there will be nerves. Questions:
- Why Tuck?
- Talk about your job experience
- Explain gap in resume (he misread my resume, but prepare if you have gaps)
- What will you contribute to study groups – what will you need help with? (Prep for this, Tuck is big on self-awareness!)
- What do you want your legacy to be at Tuck?
- What is your greatest weakness?
- What questions do you wish were asked during the interview?
