This was during their “Super Saturday” interview day, so there were about 100 other students on campus that had interviews. During this day there was also scheduled programming like lunch, panels, and hearing from faculty. A very structured day and I left feeling great about the school.
Questions:
- Walk me through your resume.
- What are your goals? My interviewer also asked me to elaborate on my long-term goal. What was my vision and what soft-skills will I need to make it a reality. This one caught me off guard!
- Why Anderson?
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Tell me about a time when you worked with people who have a different cultural background than you
- Tell me about a time when you had an idea and how it was implemented.
Then I asked my questions.
The interviewer did take notes on my answers and had a set of questions to choose from. In speaking with other prospective students, I think the school paired interviewers and interviewees based on applicants’ career goals, so make sure you have a good idea of what your goals are and make sure to ask the interviewer about their experience with that.
I genuinely enjoyed the additional programming and didn’t mind being on campus almost all day. I had the opportunity to meet other prospective students and chat with current ones, which I really enjoyed.
