I had an on-campus interview with a first-year student. The interview was held in the MBA admissions office, which was a small suite of offices in the impressive McDonough building. The check-in process was quick and easy, and everyone was incredibly kind and helpful.
The interview lasted a little over 30 minutes and was very conversational. It was a blind interview, so we started with the basic “why MBA,” “why Georgetown,” and future career goals questions, which took about half of the interview time. There were a handful of behavioral questions like “name a time you worked with a team to solve a problem” and talk briefly about an area of weakness. We ended with time for questions, and my interviewer was incredibly open and honest about his experience. He was concentrating in the same area of business that I am, so we chatted more specifically about the program and classes I would take.
All in all, a really positive experience! I received my admissions decision this week and was accepted, so I think that means it went pretty well. The interview was basically exactly what all of the online forums prep you for – be able to articulate your story, your goals, and why McDonough is the place for you and you will nail it!
