Met with Adcom member at the local Bain & Co. Office (this is where all individuals were interviewing with MIT for the day). They were running on a tight 40-minute schedule and appeared to immediately submit their notes on each candidate (room walls were glass).
The interviewer had all of my materials and asked a few questions about specific points on my resume. The questions they asked included:
1. Why MBA?
2. Why MIT?
3. What would you do if the MBA didn’t exist?
4. Tell me about a time you had a disagreement with a coworker or manager.
5. Had me describe my industry a bit more and then asked about my top accomplishments (had some information from my resume already).
6. How will you contribute to the community?
They then gave me time to ask questions. It may have been my own fault, but the vibe seemed pretty cold. Didn’t respond to my best prepared lines the way interviewers at other schools had.
Overall, it wasn’t bad, just felt a lot less warm than HBS, LBS, and Duke.
