I was invited to complete two rounds of interviews with 2 INSEAD alumni. I understand they were selected as my interviewers considering they both worked in industries or functions that I intended to pivot to after my MBA.
My first interview was smooth and centered around general school fit. My interviewer also allocated a large part of the conversation to allow me to ask him questions, as he wanted me to ensure that INSEAD was a good fit for myself. I was asked about other programs I applied to and why I chose to do an MBA and specifically at INSEAD.
My second interview was different. My interviewer scrutinized my short-term and long-term goals. She came from both the same industry and function that I want to transition into. I was asked to give an overview of my organizational structure, and how my role fit into it, my possibilities, and my decision to pursue an MBA. I was asked about how I would interview a new candidate into my team and the factors I would look out for. My interviewer also spent some time asking about how I would give back to the INSEAD community.
The fact that both interviews and interviewers were very different reiterated how diverse the INSEAD alumni network truly is. Both have risen to very senior positions in their respective companies and it was great to see INSEAD encouraging us to build connections with their impressive network.
