This year, McDonough allowed you the option to choose your interviewer via a portal, with the ability to filter by clubs / organization affiliation (students / admissions office ). I had chosen a second-year student, but she was unable to interview me last minute and had somebody fill in for her. My interview was resume-based, and very casual. Questions included:
1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why MBA? Why now?
3. Why McDonough?
4. Tell me about a time you had a conflict at work.
5. Tell me about a time you took initiative.
6. Can you talk about some of the hobbies you had mentioned earlier?
7. Do you have any questions for me?
Overall, the interview was conversational – about 20 min were for the interview itself, and 10 min for my own questions for the interviewer. I appreciated they asked me to talk through some hobbies, as it felt like they were trying to get to know me and understand me more as a person.
