I was interviewed by an alum – I am unsure of how Ross pairs up interviewers / interviewees, but I was luckily matched with somebody from my industry and location (leading to seamless conversation starters). My interviewer was engaged and very friendly; the entire process felt like more of a conversation than interview. The main questions he focused on were “Why Ross? / Why MBA now? / What will you bring to Ross?” Only one behavioral question was asked (Tell me about a time you influenced somebody that was not a direct report) before he dived into asking about my hobbies.
I was surprised at how personal this interview was, compared to other schools and thoroughly enjoyed it – I felt that I was able to learn more about my interviewer and Ross’ impact from the POV of an alum, and he was able to learn about me as a person rather than just talking through my accomplishments / professional experiences.
