Why did you make the decision to attend business school?
Pursuing an MBA will strengthen my business acumen, complementing my solid technical background to shape me into a well-rounded leader.
Why now?
Ever since Covid-19 and remote work, I realized that I work best in environments where I get to interact with my peers in person. Since my wife is about to finish her residency program in Ohio, I wanted to get a boost to my career before settling down somewhere to call my new home.
Why did you choose Ohio Fisher? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
The Ohio State University was the #1 choice for me because it is the #1 ranked university in Ohio for MBA. The close proximity to my wife and excellence in non-profit work that Fisher undertakes, especially with the GAP program, is what led me to confirm my pick.
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2026?
I used to volunteer every week for Ayudh Americas, a charitable youth organization that is aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals with chapters across the US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Costa Rica. As one of three Projects Chairs for Ayudh Americas (2018-2023), I was able to guide chapters under my guidance to become Chapter of the Year (2018 – Ayudh Brazil and 2019 – Ayudh Toronto).
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
I’ve learned to speak 7 languages (English, Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu, German, French) and I’m currently learning 2 more (Gujarati and Spanish).
Post-MBA career interests:
As an MBA graduate, I aspire to join a multinational corporation where I can drive global growth while championing environmental sustainability.
Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
GMAT – I was able to brush up on my quantitative abilities, plus show that I was still a good candidate after being out of school for a long time.
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
I would apply in earlier rounds to potentially get a better scholarship/fellowship deal with the university.
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
The essay writing process took the most time while adding stress to my already packed schedule with work and other commitments. I’m grateful to my family and friends who helped me review the essay and gave me pointers on how to improve it.
What is your initial impression of the OSU Fisher students/culture/community?
Fisher students and alumni are willing to go above and beyond to support each other. The inclusivity and the approachability of our faculty is something that cannot be understated.
What is one thing you have learned about Ohio Fisher that has surprised you?
The vast network of alumni and their willingness to be part of activities in Fisher and networking with new students has pleasantly surprised me.
What is one thing you are most anxious about in your first year?
Time management is certainly on the top of my mind. A packed semester and being a TA have kept me on my toes throughout the first days of this semester.
What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
Having no business background, I am looking forward to learning the business lingo that would make be better at conversing with potential recruiters and peers.
