The interview was with a second-year student and was a pleasant, stress-free experience—quite the opposite of what I had expected. The interviewer seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me and gathering the insights needed for the report to the admissions committee.
Overall Structure: Introduction, Why MBA, Why Tuck?
- Introduce yourself.
- Provide an overview of your professional experience, focusing on the reasoning behind each role you’ve taken on.
- Why an MBA?
- What are your short-term and long-term goals?
- Follow-up on short-term goal: specify the role I aim to pursue and why I chose that role specifically.
- Why Tuck?
Behavioral Questions:
7. Describe a time when you received difficult feedback.
8. Describe a time when you helped a colleague or friend and how you helped them specifically.
9. What is your biggest achievement?
10. Describe a time when you led something that no one else could have managed as you did.
After the behavioral questions, the interviewer invited me to share any other specific story I thought the admissions committee should know—this was a nice opportunity to highlight something unique.
We completed the interview slightly early, leaving ample time for me to ask questions, which provided some truly insightful information.
