In this special edition of the Clear Admit MBA Admissions Podcast, we dive into some groundbreaking news from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where they’ve introduced a game-changing level of flexibility to their full-time MBA program.
Flexibility is becoming a highly sought-after feature in today’s MBA landscape, and Indiana Kelley has just taken a big step forward by launching their new +Flex option. With this, full-time MBA students now have the choice to complete their second year either online or in person. This opens up endless possibilities, whether students want to travel, work remotely, or stay on campus in Bloomington for a more immersive experience.
Now, Kelley is already a leader in online education—its Kelley Direct Online MBA consistently ranks at the top, including the #1 spot from US News. So, while this +Flex option is a new development, it’s no surprise that Kelley would be at the forefront of this trend.
To dig deeper into what this means for current and future MBA students, host Graham Richmond welcomes two special guests, Emily Stern, Director of Student Services and Global Programs, and John Hill, Faculty Chair of the MBA Program. Emily has over two decades of experience in higher education administration and is passionate about student success and creating community. She has been Director of Student Services and Global Programs for the Kelley Full-time +Flex MBA since 2019, before that she was Director of Administration at Indiana University’s Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies. She holds a BA from Duke and an MA and PhD from UNC. John is a Grant Thornton Scholar in the Department of Operations & Decision Technologies at the Kelley School of Business, where he has taught for 12 years in the Full-time MBA program. He has won several teaching awards at Kelley including the Innovative Teaching Award, the Eyster Teaching Scholar Award and multiple MBA Teaching Excellence Awards. In addition to an undergrad degree, he holds a PhD, an MBA – and a masters in engineering.
In the following episode, they cover a range of topics, including:
- How Kelley’s full-time MBA has changed with +Flex
- How +Flex options influence recruiting and career coaching
