I am applying for the MBAi program at Kellogg Round 1. I was a little surprised to have an adcom conduct my interview based on what I had heard about typical Kellogg interviews and I am curious if this had to do with me applying to the smaller MBAi cohort. We jumped right into questions and she had looked at my resume so there was no ‘walk me through your resume.’

Here are the questions I remember:

  • Do you feel your trajectory at your company has been in lockstep with others, or has it been accelerated?
  • Describe what teamwork means to you and how you practice teamwork in the workplace.
  • What is your greatest strength as a leader? Where would others give you feedback?
  • What is the biggest impact you have made at work? On culture and for clients/company?
  • Tell me about your extracurriculars and how they fit into your life.
  • (very specific to my background) If you have a non-technical background, why do you think the MBAi is the right fit?
  • Why Kellogg?

Overall, the interviewer was very nice and the conversation flowed well. We ended right at 30 minutes as she had back-to-backs all day. I thought it went very well. I was surprised that I didn’t need an ‘elevator pitch’ of my resume and how thoughtful her questions were in connection to my background. Definitely made me feel good about the school as they emphasized community, teamwork, positivity, etc. all of which I expected from Kellogg!
