Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
As a life-long learner, I always knew I would return to school. It wasn’t until I advanced in my career that I realized I wanted to pivot into the corporate space. Earning an MBA will complement my academic background and nonprofit experience, helping me become a more competitive and well-rounded candidate.

Why did you choose UGA Terry? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
I was initially drawn to UGA Terry for its exemplary reputation and strong alumni network. Throughout the application process, my positive experiences with the Admissions staff reinforced my interest, particularly during my interview and campus visit. When I spoke to current students, it was clear that Terry fostered a strong sense of community amongst students and staff, combined with a rigorous curriculum.

I’m grateful that the Admissions team has curated a diverse class, representing a wide range of backgrounds. I believe we each bring our own strengths and experiences which culminates in valuable learning opportunities both inside and outside the classroom!

Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
I love all things outdoors and luckily, Athens is the perfect place for that! Whether it’s hiking, kayaking or mountain biking, Athens has everything I could ask for.

Post-MBA career interests:
I am looking to pivot into strategic and internal consulting roles within the financial sector.

Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:

Connect with the Admissions team! They are here to help you.

–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
I wish I had applied sooner!

–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
The waiting. I received a final decision shortly after my interview, but waiting to hear back on if I was selected for an interview after applying took a few weeks, and those weeks were tough!

What is your initial impression of the UGA Terry students/culture/community?
My initial impression is that everyone at UGA Terry is deeply committed to each other’s learning and development. The sense of support and collaboration is incredible, and there’s truly nowhere else I’d rather be!

What is one thing you have learned about UGA Terry that has surprised you?
There are plenty of opportunities to connect with your class and Terry alumni!

What is one thing you are most anxious about in your first year?
There is so much happening in your first year – from taking challenging classes, building new relationships, attending conferences and more! There is plenty to balance but fortunately, Terry offers a great support system to help manage everything.

What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
I’m excited to take classes in areas where I don’t have much academic background! It’s going to be challenging, but I’m eager to embrace the opportunity to learn and grow.
