Interviewed with an AdCom – honestly had a great experience. This was my first MBA interview and could not have had a better start in terms of the interviewer’s demeanour and attitude. Started with a monologue of who I am – expect to get questions throughout about the why’s or elaborations, etc. e.g. I switched streams from high school to undergrad and the interviewer asked how that felt and what impact I felt it had in the classroom.
There were no real curveball questions.
Throughout the interview – I made sure to highlight through my stories what was important to Darden – the inclusion aspect, the community, my interest in AI. I also recently read a publication by a Darden prof. on AI and we talked a bit about that, too.
I think the biggest things that helped me prepare was practicing my intro and points out loud with other people. I recorded myself so that I could look at facial expressions and eye contact – multiple times. I nailed down the pace, the humour and the genuine energy I have that could have otherwise been lost to nerves.
We went through the classic questions – why MBA, why Darden, what questions I had, etc. Very lovely experience.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
