Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
I decided to attend business school because it felt like the right time to pivot into a new industry. After gaining significant experience in treasury operations and mergers and acquisitions (M&A), I realized I wanted to shift into a more strategic, deal-focused role in investment banking. Business school will provide the broader business knowledge and leadership skills I need to make that transition successfully while expanding my professional network at this critical point in my career.

Why did you choose Texas McCombs? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
I chose Texas McCombs because it’s been my dream school for years. My uncle attended McCombs, and hearing about his positive experiences really influenced my decision. The school offers the perfect balance of academic rigor, a strong finance program, and the collaborative, tight-knit community I was looking for. McCombs also provides the full college experience I’ve always wanted, from the vibrant campus culture to the excitement of being in Austin, a growing hub for business and innovation.

What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2026?
My most valuable contribution to the Class of 2026 is the unique blend of technical and financial expertise I bring, along with my leadership experience in M&A and treasury operations. Having worked on high-stakes projects, I’ve developed a collaborative approach to problem-solving and decision-making, which helps create inclusive and effective teams. Additionally, my passion for mentoring and fostering diverse perspectives allows me to contribute to creating a supportive environment where all voices are heard.

I love football! Whether it’s watching games or playing with friends, it’s been a huge part of my life. Growing up in California, football was a big family tradition, and I continue to follow it closely.

Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
I would connect with a McCombs MBA student through their alumni network or admissions events. Those conversations gave me real insights into the culture and opportunities McCombs offers and helped me feel confident about my decision to apply.

–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
I would have completed the essay questions earlier, since writing takes me awhile. Starting earlier would have given me more time to refine my responses without feeling rushed.

–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
I would have skipped the waiting period after submitting my application if I could. It was nerve-wracking, but my friends and family helped me get through the uncertainty, offering support and encouragement throughout the process.

What is your initial impression of the Texas McCombs MBA students/culture/community?
My initial impression is that McCombs fosters a very inclusive, down-to-earth, and driven community. Everyone I’ve interacted with has been open, collaborative, and genuinely supportive of one another. The collaborative culture is apparent not only among students but also in the relationships between students, faculty, and alumni.

What is one thing you have learned about Texas McCombs that has surprised you?
I was surprised by how accessible and engaged the faculty members are. Professors genuinely want to know you and are invested in your success. I expected high-quality instruction, but I didn’t anticipate the level of mentorship and personalized attention McCombs students receive.

What is one thing you are most anxious about in your first year?
I’m anxious about being away from my family. I’ve always had a strong support system close by, so moving away for business school will be a significant change. It’s something I’ll need to adjust to, but I’m confident the McCombs community will help make the transition smoother.

What is one thing you are most excited about in your first year?
I’m most excited about meeting my classmates and building a network of lifelong friends and professional connections. I’m looking forward to collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds and learning from their experiences while contributing my own. I’m also eager to dive into the hands-on, experiential learning opportunities McCombs is known for.
