Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
With six years in the investment management industry, pursuing an MBA felt like the natural next step. It aligns seamlessly with my career path and aspirations in finance. While I’ve gained valuable insights and honed my skills throughout my career, I recognized the need to deepen my expertise in strategic leadership and management to advance to the next level.
Why did you choose Alliance Manchester Business School? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
In addition to its prestigious ranking, what really drew me to the AMBS MBA program is its “Learning by Doing” approach. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to engage in three consultancy projects, which will provide real-world experience and open doors to valuable networking across various sectors and regions.
Exploring Manchester and becoming part of the University of Manchester community also felt like a meaningful milestone, as I had once applied for an undergraduate position here but didn’t get in. It’s rewarding to see how things have come full circle!
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2025?
As a former Associate at a venture capital firm and the only Kenyan in my class, I’m thrilled to bring my perspective to our vibrant, diverse group. I’m known for my cheerful attitude and always smiling, I love bringing positive energy to every collaboration and enjoy working well with others.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
Several years ago, I gave a TEDx talk titled “A Call to Action,” where I shared my experience organizing a charity event and encouraged young people to make a difference in their communities in whatever ways they can.
Post-MBA career interests:
I feel a strong alignment with the world of impact investing, especially as it resonates deeply with my passion for promoting financial inclusion. That said, I’m also open-minded and want to make the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

Speaking with current students and alumni, their insights were invaluable in helping me understand what to expect from the course. They shared everything from timelines and people management skills to key areas to focus on, which really helped me feel well-prepared.
I’m also glad I reached out to the admissions team with any and every question I had. They were incredibly responsive and supportive, which made a big difference throughout the process.

I wish I had started the application process earlier to avoid the last-minute stress and overthinking. The pressure wasn’t helpful, but in the end, everything worked out.

If I could skip one part of the process, it would definitely be the stress I felt over the admissions test. What ultimately helped me get through it was taking action and getting the support I needed, which made the entire process much smoother.
