Why did you make the decision to attend business school? Why now?
I reached a point where I think I will need to upskill to improve my career prospects and move into management and leadership roles. This is when I have decided to attend business school as I see this as an opportunity for growth.
Why did you choose Alliance Manchester Business School? What factors figured most prominently into your decision of where to attend?
I remember I was reading about different MBA programs across Europe and the UK, and AMBS has caught my attention. Alliance Manchester Business School is one of the UK’s leading business schools, ranked 5th in the UK and 46th in the world. The school has strong links with local and global businesses, which provide a very good opportunity for students with networking, internships, and real-world projects. AMBS also provides support in terms of career services, helping students prepare for the job market through mentorship, workshops and recruitment events.
What do you think is your most valuable or differentiating contribution to the Class of 2025?
I believe my most valuable contribution to the Class of 2025 would be my previous career experience. My previous job position provides me a very good opportunity from Investment to Business and Marketing. The job does require me to manage a good relationship internally and externally. My adaptability allows me to assist with a wide range of topics and projects, making it easier for peers to navigate challenges and explore new ideas together. This collective growth can create a strong sense of community that benefits everyone involved within the team.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself that didn’t get included on your application:
I have always been called Jasmine instead of Jasmin. I’m very into voluntary work, supporting Tzu Chi. Apart from that, I love diving, golf and squash. I had my diving license last year in Phuket. I always love to try out different coffee recipes and cocktail-making at home.
Post-MBA career interests:
The possibilities are endless, but currently I’m very into Finance. A career in Investment Banking or private equity focusing on financial analysis, wealth management, and mergers and acquisitions.
Advice for Current Prospective Applicants:
–What is one thing you would absolutely do again as part of your application process?
I started my MBA application quite early which this kind of helping me well prepared. AMBS team was very helpful, they would be able to arrange a quick chat with the admission and career support team which answered all my questions and further reinforce that AMBS is the right choice for me.
–What is one thing you would change or do differently?
During the application process, I was busy taking care of several huge projects. For example, the Business Conference in Dubai. I was worried and stress about the application process. I realize that stress doesn’t help much in this case. It is all about believing in yourself that you can do well.
–What is one part you would have skipped if you could—and what helped you get through it?
To be honest, I can’t really think of anything. The standard school applications are what they are meant to be. Perhaps, my advice is students can start applying early and do some research on what the requirements needed and work on that area.
