Candidates for the Texas McCombs full-time MBA program have a new invitation to look forward to; the school has announced they will be extending select invitations to apply for their new Hildebrand Scholars program. Beyond awarding full tuition, an emphasis on leadership development is at the core of the scholarship. Scholars complete their MBA in tandem with a personally crafted, assessment-informed, two-year leadership roadmap. In addition to this, executive coaches provide personalized support to Hildebrand scholars, and candidates will have access to myriad opportunities to perfect interpersonal skills and communication abilities.
The scholarship is the latest development in McCombs’ long position as a leader in business education, proving its emphasis on developing visionary, outstanding, and well-rounded leaders of tomorrow. “The Hildebrand Scholars program,” said Rodrigo Malta, Assistant Dean of MBA Recruiting and Admissions, “reinforces our position as a top-ranked MBA destination and helps us build unique cohorts of future business leaders.”
Texas McCombs will welcome a select group of full-time MBA students, who applied in Round 1 or Round 2 to matriculate in 2025, to apply to be Hildebrand Scholars. Dr. Lillian Mills, McCombs’ Dean, commented that scholarship recipients would be “exceptional” candidates who were “destined to be future CEOs.” The opportunities provided won’t stop with this year’s recipients of the scholarship. Via the Hildebrand Excellence Fund, Texas McCombs plans to grow scholarship support and, with the help of matched donations, increase both opportunities for development and the number of scholars.
Eligibility and Applications
Candidates admitted to Texas McCombs via Round 1 and Round 2 for the fall of 2025 are eligible for the scholarship. McCombs requires candidates for the Hildebrand Scholars program to complete an additional essay and interview process.
Successful candidates will be those who can demonstrate not only exceptional academic ability, but who are able to create real change in their communities. In addition, they will be candidates who “might otherwise not have considered pursuing their MBA at Texas McCombs,” commented Malta.
Texas McCombs describes the selection process for Hildebrand Scholars as rigorous and holistic. The process seeks to uncover candidates whose academic achievement is remarkable, whose leadership potential is proven, and whose commitment to positively impacting their communities is demonstrable. In doing so, it mirrors the longstanding commitment of McCombs to cultivating innovative and impactful futures in business by fostering outstanding MBA candidates.
