Social impact careers are not limited to nonprofits and development. MBA alumni leaders in technology, education, and the energy sectors are leveraging the hard and soft skills learned and earned from Dartmouth Tuck to provide clean water, generate sustainable energy, and transform classroom outcomes for children of all economic strata. Tuck MBAs working in social impact can see their passion for making the world a better place realized with efficiency, growth, and financial success.
The Tuck MBA offers small class sizes with a passionate, committed community where meaningful connections are easily forged. The school community’s collective set of values, sense of responsibility, and desire to “better the world through business” inspires students. The program’s flexibility enables students to drive real impact—whether consulting with nonprofits, volunteering in their communities, or launching mission-driven ventures—all while earning their degrees.
Through the Center for Business, Government & Society (CBGS), students explore the intersection of business, government, and society as they navigate today’s most complex global challenges, including climate change, economic inequality, and the future of democracy and capitalism. The Center provides resources and opportunities such as attendance to international conferences, impact investing initiatives, and social impact fellowships. Among other programs and initiatives, there’s also the Tuck Social Venture Fund (TSVF), a student-run investment fund that invests in early-stage, for-profit social enterprises that deliver a measurable social impact and financial return. Tuck is all-in on social impact.
Read on to meet three Tuck alumni who joined Tuck to make a positive impact on the world, and how the Tuck MBA prepared them for careers in social impact.
