Across its Bloomington and Indianapolis campuses, the Kelley School of Business has 329 faculty members, more than half of whom are tenure track. The faculty is known for their research, as they have published hundreds of journal articles and books in the span of only a couple of years.

Curriculum

The Full-Time +Flex MBA at Kelley takes two years to complete. Students begin with Me, Inc., a unique three-week program in teambuilding and career development. The first semester consists of integrated core courses, where Kelley’s best professors come together in team-taught sessions that build your acumen in foundational subjects such as accounting, marketing, and quantitative analysis.

First-year MBA students choose a Career Foundation Academy to gain additional access to specific activities, consulting projects, career coaches, networking opportunities, and mentorship related to their chosen field. First-year MBA students may choose from the following academies: Business Marketing, Business Operations and Innovation, Capital Markets, Consulting, Consumer Marketing, or Strategic Finance. A specialized Academy called PLUS Life Sciences offers students additional training in the health care, pharmaceutical, and life sciences fields. Optional second-year Entrepreneurial Innovation and Leadership Academies are also offered.

In addition, students choose one of seven majors (five are STEM-designated), or they can design a specialized one. The standard majors include business analytics, entrepreneurship and corporate innovation, finance, strategy and leadership, marketing, strategic analysis of accounting information, and supply chain and operations. Majors require 12 credit hours of required coursework, leaving you with 18 credit hours to use for electives, a second major or minor or certificate—and a customized MBA experience.

Kelley MBA students may also earn a certificate in social entrepreneurship, product management, Human Capital or global business achievement. The social entrepreneurship program consists of 18 credit hours, and is offered in conjunction with the IU School of Public and Environmental Affairs.

Lastly, leadership development is woven throughout the program, beginning with Me, Inc., which helps students develop a deeper understanding of their personal brand and how to parlay that knowledge into career opportunities. You’ll build leadership and team-based skills during class projects. Students who complete their MBA on campus can gain additional leadership experience in the Leadership Academy and by leading one of the program’s student clubs or a consulting team as part of the Global Business and Social Enterprise program.
