Chicago Booth MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 1 / Alumnus / Off-campus

I completed by R1 interview with an Alumnus in my city on Nov 24th, we met at her office in the evening. The conversation was very casual, we both had a similar experience of moving countries we touched base on that and then just friendly talk followed. She didn’t have a printout of my resume, I had brought along an extra one so I gave that to her and then she asked me to walk her through my resume giving details about undergrad and grad school and work experiences.

She didn’t ask any particular questions but stuff on my resume itself materialized into why mba, why now and looking my previous work and life experiences what my short and long term goals would be.

We discussed what other schools I had and had not applied to also. As in ” Why not school XYZ..”

We went in some detail about her experience at Booth and how the students see things differently since the grades are not disclosed. We also talked about how Booth has a great links to good companies to move into a particular space of interest.

All in all, we had a great stress free conversation, very light and relaxed.

I believe the best way to prep for the interview it to simply know your resume and your story inside out. I did a lot of prep on Why Booth but that never came up. They are trying to judge you and if you are a “fit” not exactly how much you know ( details) about Booth.

Good luck with interviews everyone.
