Georgetown / McDonough MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Off-Campus / Adcom

I was invited to interview for Round 2. I wanted to visit the campus to interview but unfortunately due to work obligations I could not make it during the work week. I currently live in Philadelphia, but there were no off-campus options there, however there were off-campus options in New York City on the weekend, which was extremely convenient for me since I am originally from New York and still have family in the city.

We met at a Hilton Hotel in midtown Manhattan and the interview was conducted in a lounge area at a table.

The interview was blind but she informed me that she had a chance to briefly glance at my resume beforehand. Interview tone was laid back.

Questions:

  • Describe a difficult team situation where someone may not have been pulling their weight and how did you help remedy the situation
  • How would your market yourself to an employer? (strengths) What gaps would the employer see? (weaknesses)
  • How does the MBA relate to your short and long term goals?
  • Why get an MBA now at this point in your career?
  • Describe a challenging international experience? What advice would you give someone in a similar situation?
  • Describe a challenging work situation where there may have been a learning curve and how did you navigate through it.
  • Describe your leadership style.
  • What are your hobbies?

Session ended with questions for the interviewer. Round 2 decisions will all be released on 3/15/12.
