The interview was conducted by an Adcom officer, it was very informal and pleasant. There were no probing questions about how, what or why. She said I would have about 30-45 min to simply “ tell my story”. She asked me to hit upon the following points:
- College
- Grad school
- Work experiences
- Why I made some of the choices in my career
- Why MBA and why now
I went into detail about why I picked my undergrad college, why that major and what I really gained from it. How I got my masters degree picked my first job. A little about my first job and why the break in the work ex and then about my second job. She didn’t seem to care too much about exactly what I did, more about some of the teamwork and leadership roles I had at my job.
The she casually asked me Why Darden, Short and Long term goals
The interview ended in about 30 min, she asked me if I had any question and that was it.
All in all, it was a great experience and very stress free. The school from my understanding takes in a lot of “career switchers” and so they don’t want to know what exactly you did but just an overall idea of your job and your decisions.
Be clear in telling your story, practice it… Its about a 20 min monologue.
Good luck everyone…. Happy holidays (soon :))
