I interviewed on campus, and luckily, because I attended their Discover Stern Weekend I had been previously introduced to the interviewer. That gave me the option to meet one professor, attend a mock class, several students, and view Stern in both an academic and social setting. I would HIGHLY recommend that anyone from the tri-state area take advantage of all similar opportunities before your interview, since I was able to use these experiences in the ‘why stern’ question. You just seem lazy if you don’t (as told to me from current students).
Here are some questions I was asked:
- How did I end up in my current firm
- Why MBA, Why now, Why Stern
- Follow up questions on my career of interest ( Banking)
- What I would do for my summer internship
- Example of a failure
- Example of working in a group with someone difficult
- What role do I typically play My on a team
- Examples of negative feedback I’ve gotten
- What other programs I’ve applied to
- What would the class of 2014 be missing if I were not accepted ( i.e. how would I contribute to Stern)
- Questions for her
I haven’t heard back yet, but I hope this helps!
