The interview took place in the offices of a law firm in San Francisco with links to the school. The interviewer had read my entire application in detail and asked very specific questions about things I had mentioned. He had a list of questions before him and went through them one by one. The setting was informal and the interviewer was reasonably friendly. The majority of the interview was a general discussion about the various problems that plague my industry. He wanted to know if a) I was aware of these problems and b) what I thought about them and c) how I think we can overcome them. I got the distinct feeling he was trying to make sure that I think beyond my everyday duties and about how my work can affect the wider population. I liked this aspect of the interview because anyone can come prepared with the “Tell me about a time when…” type questions but to answer these questions he was asking, you would have to have read a lot and thought a lot about your industry in general.
I had no behavioral type questions in my interview but I have heard that your interview type at Said very much depends on who interviews you – faculty, sector consultants (who sometimes tend to ask abstract type questions) or Admissions staff (mostly behavioral type).
The whole interview lasted about 45 min including my questions and in the end I was accepted. Good luck!
