Georgetown / McDonough MBA Admissions Interview Questions: Round 2 / Adcom / On campus

I interviewed on 01/24 during the day. I applied Round 2 and interviewed with an AdCom memeber. When I got there, no one was in the admissions office to talk to me or answer questions or anything like that. So I had time to read through my notes and mentally prepare myself. Then, the Adcom member came out and greeted me… he was really nice and conversational. It’s a blind interview, so all he saw was my resume in advance (he also did ask me for a copy – so make sure to print one out in advance!) He asked me a few formal questions:

1. Tell me about your work experience, your goals, and why you want an MBA.
2. Tell me about a time when you experienced a challenge working abroad (I travel internationally quite a bit for work).
3. Tell me about a time when you questioned the status quo and made a recommendation to someone senior to you.
4. Tell me about a time when you led a team and faced a challenge – how did you overcome it?

Then he asked me if there was anything else I wanted to tell him. I told him why I wanted to go to Georgetown (since he never asked me and I was prepared to answer that). And then I asked him two questions and we wrapped up (asked him about the school’s relationship with the public sector and also about the culture and what I’ve heard).

Today’s decision day, and the result – admitted!
