Columbia Business School Welcomes New Assistant Dean and Dean of Students

z-crawfordOn Monday, January 5th, Zelon Crawford will become the new assistant dean and dean of students for the full-time MBA program at Columbia Business School, the school announced last month. Crawford comes to CBS from Villanova School of Business, where she served as director of graduate business programs and recruitment.

At Villanova, Crawford led the MBA and MS program review of academic content, student services, admissions standards and communication and processes to enhance the student experience. She also worked extensively with academic and corporate partners to deliver programs on Villanova’s two campuses and online. In all, she brings more than 15 years of experience at top business schools and companies, having also worked at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, New York University’s Stern School of Business,  American Express and Accenture. “Zelon not only has the vision and team management skills needed to help navigate a changing business school environment,” CBS Associate Dean Michael Malone said in a statement. “She also has the proven experience of building trust among the faculty members, students, staff members and other critical stakeholders.”

A graduate of Columbia University’s Teacher’s College, Crawford is pleased to be returning to her alma mater. “As a Columbia alumna, I take great pride in this institution and hope to continue fostering the spirit of collaboration, innovation and entrepreneurship that represents Columbia and the student community at large,” she said in a statement.
