Students can take multiple paths with an MBA from Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, but they can also combine the degree in creative and powerful ways thanks to a range of joint- and dual-degree programs that draw on the strengths of Dartmouth’s other postgraduate schools. This array of opportunities gives students at Tuck even more refined ways to direct their burgeoning careers.
Tuck’s three joint-degree programs with Dartmouth are the MD/MBA, MPH(Master of Public Health)/MBA, and a PhD/MBA. The MD/MBA joint degree, offered in partnership with Dartmouth’s Geisel School of Medicine, can be completed within five to six years. By preparing them to practice both medicine and management, this degree can lead students toward careers in biotech, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and a multitude of similar industries.
The MPH/MBA with the Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Clinical Practice (TDI) is designed to give students an inside track on health policy and clinical practice, offering expertise in public health, clinical/health services research or health care leadership, depending upon the courses studied in the program.
And the PhD/MBA program aims to train students in both disciplinary scientific practices and business fundamentals, as well as entrepreneurship, creating boundless future capabilities for those who complete the program.
Students at the Tuck School of Business can also take advantage of several dual-degree programs that involve partnerships with schools outside of Dartmouth. One such example is the new three-year MBA/MA with the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University. The dual program is designed specifically for those looking to merge international relations and business management practices, creating an incredibly unique opportunity to work both domestically and abroad.
But the Hopkins-Tuck partnership is just one of many. Students can also take part in a three-year MBA/MALD (Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy) program with the Fletcher School at Tufts University; an MBA/MELP (Master of Environmental Law and Policy) program with the Vermont Law School; the MBA/MPA (Master of Public Administration) and MBA/MPA/ID (International Development) programs with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University; and an MBA/MPP (Master of Public Policy) program, also in partnerships with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
